Job Description:

The Office of Risk Management and Analysis (RMA) in the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is seeking technical staff for its Risk Analytics Division

Technical staff will

· Perform strategic probabilistic risk assessments; carry out analytical studies involving the development and implementation of risk methodologies and programs to identify, collect data, evaluate, and prioritize resources according to national risk; assists with the review and evaluation of risk methodologies and practices of all DHS components, as well as other Federal agencies and risk stakeholders in order to support the coordination of risk methodologies and information sharing of national risk management needs.

· Participate in the design and conduct of research and/or analysis of complex program issues that include the development, adaptation, and application of performance measurement criteria to determine effectiveness of various technical DHS risk programs.

· Perform extensive literature reviews and internet searches to locate scientific studies, risk methodologies, and other important sources to extract relevant best practice information documented by other federal agencies and the private sector.

· Assist with the creation of tools and processes for strategic risk analysis, such as the Risk Analysis for Policy Informed Decision Making (RAPID) tool to evaluate the risk reduction impacts of DHS programs, perform risk prioritization and resource allocation, and participate in the design and integration of risk-informing tools and reports for strategic, tactical, and post-event use by DHS decision makers; perform a broad range of highly complex qualitative and quantitative techniques to formulate and solve problems affecting DHS decisions concerning risk management.



Additional Requirements:

You must be a U. S. citizen to apply for this position.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
Relocation Expenses WILL NOT be paid.
Overnight travel of 1-5 nights per month may be required.
Must be willing to undergo periodic drug testing
Shift hours/overtime required.
Duty Location: Washington DC Metro Area
